In this painting we see Mark Oswald boiling the hides in Candies & Hughes 1986 Trans Am. This car would win the team it's 3rd IHRA Championship. In 1984, this 3some was the first team in history, to win the World Championship, in both NHRA and IHRA simultaneously.
This 1986 Trans Am body, was the second generation Firebird/Trans Am shell to be developed. As seen here, this was the first car to sport the (now common place) pickup-bed style rear wing. the body would go through one more series of design modifications in 87, but Candies&Hughes struck a deal with Ford, and switched to a T-Bird body.
