"I've wanted to paint the S.W.C. Mustang for long time noow,  but I couldn't find the right setting, that is until I ran across this great scene from Aquasco Drag Strip in Maryland, captured here by my old friend Leslie Lovett.  The scene is 1967 of course, this is a match race between the "Fabulous" Stone, Woods & Cook "Dark Horse 2" Mustang, and Roger Lindamood's "Color me Gone" 67 Charger. Doug managed to beat Roger in first 2 out of 3 rounds...
Two completely different approaches here on how to build a Funny Car in 67. Ron Scrima, Pat Foster, and Tom Hanna, teamed up to build the SWC Stang. The Horse featured an acid dipped steel body welded to the chassis, with removable fiberglass doors and front fenders...
On the other hand, in 66 Roger had a Acid dipped Charger FXer, and for 67, he decided to go all the with a One-piece flip-top Fiberglass Body draped over his own hand build chassis..
