One of the great things about Orange County Raceway, is the fact that you could walk all the way down to the end of the track to the turnoff road. My friend use to hang out there, taking pictures as the cars turned off the track. One thing the drivers would do, they would turn off the track and make the u-turn as fast as they could, this way they could coast a ways up the return road. Sometimes with the cars still running, they would idle up the return road almost all the way back to the pits.
This image captures Raymond Beadle as he turns off the track at about 60mph, with fuel splashing out of the headers, he is hoping to coast back up the road as far as he can.
This painting captures the brilliant Candy Blue paint job on the Max.
