Where some critics might claim this version of Al Vander Woude's “Flying Dutchman” put the funny in the words Funny Car. Some say it is one of the ugliest funnies at the time, I personally thought it was radical looking. I loved the “chopped” top leaving only C Pillars. Eventually, the rest of the roof was removed leaving Al sitting out in the open. In due course, the roof was replaced; the car was repainted (with an awesome Aqua paint scheme) and raced for another season.
