n 1965 the word was out about a Blown GTO that was being built to terrorize the Southern  California  Drag Strips, not to be outdone, Don Kirby decided to to build the wildest meanest Blown Corvette ever.
Kirby started with Fiberglass 64 Corvette body, dropped it over a tube chassis and installed a direct drive,  a Hilborn injected Blown 327, and the rest is History.
In 1965 "Jungle Larry" Faust drove the car and hit typical times of 9.20s ET at over 160mph. The car won the 1965 Mickey Thompson "Gathering of Monsters" meet at Fontana by defeating Dick Landy's Injected 65 Dodge.
At the end of the 65 season Don Kirby hired Pat Foster as a driver, and  they revamped the car for the 66 season. They beefed up the Role-Cage, and dropped a larger 427 C.I. Chevy motor running on Nitro. The car's ETs dropped down into the 8 second bracket and the speed hit the 180mph mark..
Seen here is the 66 version of the car testing at Lions with Pat Foster at the wheel...
