2006 marks the return of one of Drag Racing's favorite Funny Cars, the Dodge Charger. This incarnation is, Don Schumacher's "Brut" sponsored Charger driven by Ron Capps...
After a nearly two decade absence, the Charger returns to tear-up Drag Racing once again... This Dodge body has been a main-stay of the sport going back to 1966, the first year the Charger was produced. In 66 we had "Color Me Gone," and "Tickle me Pink," and even Don Schumacher had one of those fast back Chargers...Then Roland's car flew at the 69 at the Winternationals,,, while Gene Snow dominated the early 70s with a string of "Rambunctious" Chargers...The "Hawaiian" contingent maintained a strong stable of of Charger bodied funnies...The Charger would make a comeback in the early 80's, again with Leong's "Hawaiian" and other notables like, the "Super Brut' and the "Chi-Town-Hustler..
This latest incarnation of the Charger is by far the most exotic body yet...Looking more like a space shuttle waiting for flight, this car looks like it's going 300 mph just sitting style...
