Shores and Hess owned this (State-of-the-Art) Gasser named "Skipper's Critter". This bitchen little Candy Apple Red Anglia was built by legendary car builder Don Long. The little gasser started life with an injected small block engine, but was updated to a Blown Rat Motor, so it could compete with it's arch nemesis, the "King Kong" Anglia.
Revell Models also released a kit of this car in the mid 60s, and if memory serves, it was an extremely hard model kit to build...
In 1967 the car was sold to the Pittman Bros, and once again the power plant was replaced with an even bigger Blown Chrysler Hemi engine...
Sadly the car was demolished in a crash. A truly sad ending for one of Drag Racing's most beautiful cars...
